Just as the Merlettaie of Offida—the skilled lace-makers—preserve an ancient craft through rapid and precise movements, so too has the Pecorino grape, a noble and resilient variety, endured for centuries, once confined to the rugged slopes of the Piceno Apennines. Today, this rare and precious treasure continues to reveal its intense character over time, evoking ethereal and persistent sensations.
The concept behind this project is to once again strengthen and reaffirm the deep bond between Ciù Ciù, Offida, Pecorino, and the Merlettaie, through an unexpected and striking representation in the form of a new Metodo Classico sparkling wine.
The spindle, the essential tool of the lace-makers, takes on a symbolic role in this wine. Its shape, reminiscent of a pendulum, serves as the perfect synthesis between the art of bobbin lace-making and the craft of producing a Metodo Classico sparkling wine. Both require patience, skill, and time. This concept is further reinforced by the physical incorporation of a wooden spindle on the label, layered over the paper, making it an integral and tactile part of the design.
This project is a tribute to tradition, craftsmanship, and the timeless dialogue between art and winemaking.
