Set over the course of a single night, the film follows Dame Alvera (Sophie Thompson), a disgraced TV celebrity psychic, as she attempts to reclaim her lost fame. In a desperate bid for relevance, she intervenes in a local tragedy, blurring the lines between fate, manipulation, and self-delusion.
The design draws inspiration from the symbolism of "The Magician" from the Tarot of Marseille. This card, associated with illusion, deception, and power, reflects the protagonist's own attempts to control the narrative of her life. The visual language of the poster and title evokes the mysticism and ambiguity of tarot, reinforcing the film's themes of fate, manipulation, and the allure of fame.
