El Sicario, room 164  |  Poster design

El Sicario, room 164 is a film directed by Gianfranco Rosi winner of the Orizzonti Doc Award at the 67th Venice International Film Festival. An 80-minute documentary about a hit man. He has killed hundreds of people, is an expert in torture and kidnapping, and for many years was a commander of the state police in Chihuahua. At the moment, there is a contract on his life of $250,000.

The director asked us to create a strong image that was representing the simplicity of the film but all its power.
After visioning the whole footage we decide to be simply very close to the subject. Two colors in contrast. From real image to graphic. We believe our graphic approach was intended to increase the level of distress. Evil and mystery, in a psychological way. Received ultimate results from a series of merchandising promotions. Same design it's been used for book's cover.
